Privacy

Short version: your videos stay on your device.

What happens to your video

GifNoBg processes everything in your browser. The videos you open, the video frames, cut-outs and edits, and the stickers you export are never uploaded, logged or sent to us or to anyone else. Frames are held only in your browser’s memory while you work and are discarded when you open another video or close the page.

No content scanning

The AI models only separate the subject from the background, on your device. Nothing analyses, classifies or reports what your videos contain.

What we don’t do

No accounts, no sign-up, no cloud storage, no public sharing, no cookies, and no tracking or advertising pixels.

What is kept in your browser

To start faster next time, your browser keeps a copy of the AI models (about 50–80 MB) in its own storage. It also remembers four small settings: which background colour you chose for the preview, and whether your device can use the GPU or the smaller tap model. None of this contains your videos, and none of it is sent to us. You can delete it any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Usage counts

To know how GifNoBg is used, the site counts page visits and app events such as “a video was opened” or “a GIF sticker was made” (with the format, size preset, device type, country and the website you came from). These counts never include your video, frames, file names or anything you type. We don’t use cookies for this and don’t store your IP address. Your IP address and browser type are combined with a secret value into a one-way code that changes every day and every month. That lets us count visitors without knowing who you are or following you across days. Because the code is made from your IP address, data-protection law treats it as pseudonymous personal data, so we tell you about it here. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app, and keep the counts for about 13 months.

What does get downloaded

The app and the open-source AI models it uses are downloaded to your browser from our host, Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) to deliver and protect the site. These logs never contain your videos.

Contact form

If you write to us, your name, email address, subject and message are stored in our site’s database at Cloudflare, together with your country and device type (phone or computer), so we can read your message and reply from [email protected]. We use them only to answer you and don’t add you to any list. Messages are deleted when we no longer need them, and after 12 months at the latest. To limit spam, a one-way code made from your IP address is kept for a day; the IP itself isn’t stored.

Ratings

After you download a sticker you can rate the result and, if you like, say what went wrong. This is optional. We receive the stars, the issues you tick, your comment, the sticker format and size preset, how long the cut-out took, your country and device type (phone or computer) — never your video, the sticker or its file name, and no name or email. We use it only to improve GifNoBg and delete it after 12 months at the latest.

Children

GifNoBg has no accounts and never receives your videos. The only personal data we handle is the usage code above and what you choose to send through the contact form or a rating.

Who is responsible, and your rights

GifNoBg is run by GifNoBg (trading name), contact: [email protected]. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Cloudflare hosts the site and handles this data for us as our processor. Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to us through the Contact form or at [email protected]. If you’re unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this changes — for example if we add advertising — we’ll update this page first and ask for any consent the law requires.
